The Greenery Ranked One of the 100 Largest Landscape Firms

Leading trade magazine for the professional landscape industry releases its 11th annual list of the industry’s 100 largest revenue-generating firms.

Charleston, SC – Lawn & Landscape magazine, the leading trade publication serving the professional lawn and landscape contractor industry, ranked The Greenery the 37th largest landscape company on its recently published Top 100 list.

The list, published in Lawn & Landscape’s June issue, highlights the 100 largest companies in the fast-growing landscape industry based on 2007 year-end revenue. Companies on the list provide a range of green industry services including landscape maintenance, chemical lawn care/fertilization, landscape design/build/installation, irrigation installation/maintenance and tree and ornamental care. Top 100 firms are headquartered in 24 states; two are based in Ontario.

“The Lawn & Landscape Top 100 was created not only to recognize the size and scope of the professional landscape industry, but to spotlight the achievements of the entrepreneurs in our industry who have contributed exceptionally to the quality of residential and commercial landscapes across the country,” says Cindy Code, editorial director for Lawn & Landscape magazine. “Our annual list is more than a list of big companies and top revenues. Our report also includes snapshots of unique business strategies and approaches that the entire landscape industry and business community can learn from.”

The Greenery of Charleston, LLC is the premiere provider of commercial landscape management and design in the Tri-county area. The Greenery provides all aspects of commercial landscape contracting. Specializing in complex project management, our skills in scheduling and job management cover all aspects of hardscape construction, irrigation systems and installation. Our project managers are directly responsible for all aspects of scheduling, project coordination, production and quality control. The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra effort that is put into every project to ensure its completion on time and at the highest level of quality

At The Greenery we have developed a comprehensive system which we call Programmed Landscape Management. With this system we custom design a regular maintenance plan that pre-schedules all service, fertilizing, chemical application, pruning and mowing. This schedule is combined with regular supervisory visits to check crew performance, condition of plant material, turf condition, irrigation system and over all property management.

Collectively, this year’s Lawn & Landscape Top 100 generated a total of $7.1 billion in revenue – a significant portion of the highly regional, fragmented industry, estimated to be a $52-billion marketplace.

According to this year’s survey, Illinois is home to the most Top 100 companies with 15 businesses headquartered there. California and Florida are close behind; each is home to 14 Top 100 headquarters.
