On July 30th The Lowcountry Housing Trust (LHT) partnered with The Greenery, LLC, a local award winning landscape contracting and maintenance company, to provide landscape services for 15 Killians Street, a home funded in part by LHT and developed by the Charleston Area Community Development Corporation (CACDC) as part of the City of Charleston’s Homeownership Initiative. The Greenery has committed to provide at no cost to LHT all materials, labor, and maintenance education on installed plants for homes receiving funding subsidy from the Trust. The purpose of the Plant a Tree Program is to create a comfortable and attractive property that is a source of pride to the owner, an asset to the community, and a catalyst for reinvestment in the neighborhood. The home was purchased by Allison Yeadon, an employee at the Charleston County landfill.
