Fall is upon us and while we are all happy to feel some cooler temperatures, commonly our landscapes start to look a bit boring. Our lawns are not growing as much, trees have stopped flowering and are losing their leaves,  and our summer annuals have seen better days. What are  a few simple ideas for improving aesthetics without breaking the bank?…..

-Consider some fresh pinestraw. Just a few bales of pinestraw around your main entry or patio area will give you a fresh feeling and add some color.

-Add some new transition annuals to your beds or planters. Flowers like French Marigolds, Red Salvia, Crotons and mums all have wonderful fall colors and are readily available at most nurseries this time of year.

-Give your lawn some iron. You do NOT want to be applying high amounts of Fertilizer to your lawns this time of year. To produce some nice green growth though, apply some iron to get a quick green-up that will last 3-6 weeks.

The Fall is a wonderful time of year. Make sure you enjoy it by spending time outdoors and trying a few of these suggestions to bolster your landscapes appearance.
